New Faculty Orientation (NFO) is designed to introduce new faculty to the mission, culture, and values of Illinois State University. NFO is produced by the Center for Integrated Professional Development on behalf of the Office of the Provost. The NFO team is here to support your transition to your new academic home, and we want you to be successful now and in the future. Please know that your participation in any of the professional development offerings over the summer is completely voluntary and not required.
NFO uses a blended modality, with asynchronous content here on Comevo and synchronous sessions during Faculty Prep Week. These sessions are a mix of Zoom and in-person offerings. You can learn more about our synchronous offerings and register at the Center's website.
The content in these Comevo presentations are designed to broaden your understanding of our institution without overwhelming you with a gigantic "info-dump." We have designed each module to take about an hour, and this module provides a brief introduction to Illinois State University's mission and vision through our strategic plan, Excellence by Design, while also previewing the content of our other orientation modules.
Any questions about technical aspects of this site (such as broken links, missing images, or other such things) can be directed to David Giovagnoli. Questions about the synchronous sessions in August should go to Dr. Dana Karraker. All other questions related to professional development or OpScan (scantron bubble sheets) can be directed to the main Center email address (ProDev@IllinoisState.edu) or to our main phone number (309) 438-2542.
Once again, welcome to our campus community!
